I got an early start on my spring cleaning this weekend. I figured since it already feels like spring, then hey, why not? I tackled the enormous project of cleaning out our closet and moving all my craft supplies into it. I had stuff stashed in five different places in my laundry room, dining room (two spots), family room and master bedroom. Now I have all of it consolidated in one place. I'm hoping this arrangement will help me feel motivated to start making things again since I won't have to gather my materials from the four corners of my little world.
We don't have the space (or money) for me to have a fancy, beautiful craft room, but it makes me happy to look at the fruits of my labors. It also makes me happy to have purged some junk that was taking up space in my life. It felt so good in fact that after the closet was finished I kept going and cleaned under my bed and cleaned out all my desk drawers. (Next up, painting??)
I feel like I am in a constant battle with clutter and I am craving more simplicity these days. Plus I keep thinking it may not be this year, but eventually my husband will get a job and we'll move and there's an awful lot of stuff that I don't want to have to take with us when we go.
How about you? Have you taken on any decluttering or spring cleaning projects lately? I'd love to hear about them. Tell me in the comments.
